Maureen Ortagus accuses Ron Sanchez

Shame on Maureen Ortagus and her potty mouth at a St. Johns County Commission meeting — known to be broadcast to schools and homes around the community and over the Internet around the world.

Ortagus, who had to read her statement to the Board to “keep from getting too emotional”, admits to instigating a telephone call to Commissioner Sanchez and “raising her voice” to him when he told her that he “didn’t know what he could do” because she says “he wasn’t listening” and she says he was “giving me the run around”.

When does “not knowing what you can do to help” equate to not listening? When does not doing what a loudmouthed fakir like Maureen Ortagus tells you to do equate to not listening? When does name calling and name dropping equate to not listening?

I wouldn’t listen to her, either. And, if she called me up and tried to bully me into doing her bidding, I’d hang up on her, too if she started yelling at me.

Ortagus claims to have had ex-commissioner Karen Stern on a short leash; arranging for access to county staff and speaking on Ortagus’ behalf. Now she apparently needs spitballs and Sanchez doesn’t want to play. “Well, she can kiss my ass” Ortagus says was Sanchez’ response to her cajoling.

This woman holds herself out as a “Public Image” consultant. She needs to focus on the image in her mirror. Oh, yes. And, she is a “photographer”. Well, this Kodak moment is on us.

SHAME ON YOU!

No,shame on you, you’re another one who hides behind a screen name. Whether or nor I agree with Maureen on every issue is irrelevant, she does have the right to comment, and protest.
Did Ron brush her off? Maybe he did, but it’s his word against hers, to me, but ron is the public official, and it is his job to respect the public.
My name is Bob Honiker, what is your name?

The comment’s source is what’s irrelevant.

    The video speaks for itself.

Ortagus shows her true colors – admitting she raised her voice to Sanchez when she didn’t get her way.

She also admits to confronting Sanchez again at an unrelated meeting. She says the “conversation” degenerated “into something ugly”. I don’t doubt that one bit with the mouth on this woman.

Then she comes before the Board, trembling and fragile, begging for help — when just days earlier she was having one of those manic days that she’s so famous for and verbally attacked Sanchez.

When you get through with those rose colored glasses, can I borrow them?

You can’t hide a clip from a public meeting where you chose to show your ass.

    Maureen is as Maureen does!

What does the most tourism-clueless, anti-hospitality psychopath in town have to do with this? Watch for the Ken Bryan/Tom Manuel agenda to continue to play out.

From the TDC article in the Record 5/13:

“Posted by: mortagus at May. 13, 2009 at 9:05:19 am
Guinta: Dismissal of the current TDC board of directors. That idea was later thrown out.

    Mortagus:
    * All TDC board of directors will be required to reapply.
    * Current TDC board members will continue to serve for the next couple months.

This does not imply that current TDC board members will not be reappointed after the BCC workshop and review.

*There will be an organizational restructuring of duties within the TDC.
*Some duties which fall under the director will be assigned to other individuals.
*Safeguards will be put in place to assure transparency and accountably of TDC bed tax dollars spent.
    *TDC meetings will be broadcasted
