Slavin envies licensed attorney
At the city commission meeting last night, Ed Slavin alleges that respected local attorney, George McClure, bribes elected officials — specifically making reference in the public meeting to the alleged bribe offered by McClure to indicted and suspended County Commissioner Tom Manuel.
McClure is reported to have been cooperating with police in a public corruption investigation.
McClure is a licensed, practicing attorney who was at the commission meeting to represent a legitimate, taxpaying citizen and landowner in the City of St. Augustine.
Slavin is a disbarred, unlicensed attorney who was at the commission meeting solely to disrupt and slander those like George McClure, Mayor Joe Boles, City Attorney Ron Brown and other attorneys who still have the one thing that Slavin covets so much — their licenses to practice law.
Slavin was captured on video in this clip after being confronted by Attorney McClure regarding his spurious allegations. McClure walked away before pummeling Slavin into the ground.
Not satisfied with being spared what could have been the well deserved beating of his life, Slavin makes one last parting shot at Mr. McClure while safely out of reach.
“Have you ever given any money or thing of value to a politician before you gave it to Mr. Manuel, Mr. McClure?”
Rising above Slavin’s nursery school attempt to goad him into a confrontation, McClure responds “Get your facts”.
Envious of the truth in McClure’s words and the strength of McClure’s standing and reputation in the community, Slavin can only mutter “You don’t know the facts”.
Well, if Mr. McClure doesn’t “know the facts”, how can you surmise that he is a party to such activity? Wouldn’t anyone actually involved in any wrongdoing certainly “know the facts” and all of the facts?
Go sit in your corner until its time to call the Chief of Police to remove you from the meeting room again, Slavin. Shame on you for the baseless, ridiculous and slanderous allegations that you make against real St. Augustinians every day you worthless, lying carpetbagger.

Justice Adolpho A. Birch, Jr. of the Supreme Court of Tennessee at Nashville wrote a decision filed August 27, 2004 that perhaps sums Slavin up best.
On appeal which suspended Slavin from the practice of law for a period of two years and ordered costs of the review to be taxed to the appellant, Edward A. Slavin, Jr., Justice Birch said, “Although we are much impressed with Slavin’s intellect and legal skill, what does not impress us is his apparent defiance in refusing to respect the line separating, in the judicial context, tolerable criticism from unacceptable speech. He has trampled upon that line, and indeed by so doing has propelled himself into the quagmire of unacceptable speech.”

I agree with you about Slavin. He is the worst of the worse. I posted a blog yesterday about his blasting the city attorney and commissioners. He hasn’t even posted it. I don’t think he has the guts. We shall see.
