Nosy Rider

No Helmet?
Why would a 60 year old man who says he wants to be around another 20 years be operating a motorcycle without the safety of a helmet?

County Commissioner Ken Bryan claims to have moved to St. Augustine to retire; collecting a nice government pension.

But, from the time he got here just a few years ago, he started morphing into a retired man on a mission to be some kind of kid again — taking risks and pushing limits; including the limits of his own welcome.

A little late to be having a mid-life crisis, don’t you think?

Not only does he take risks with his personal safety, he takes risks in his political career. In what some have called a “fluff piece” in a Ponte Vedra tabloid, Bryan tells off the party who gave him the shot at political office that he craved.

Bryan is quoted as saying that he was joining others who were going to “take over the county” and in the recent article he says he really didn’t want to be a politician. Huh?

Ken Bryan has spent too much time inside the beltway. He has the political, government double-speak down to a science. The Republicans in St. Johns County are not so foolish as to take his veiled insults with a grain of salt. He better be enrolling a BUNCH of Democrats as St. Johns County voters before his re-election rolls around.

Oh. Put on a helmet Ken and buckle up that chin-strap. You might be in for a bumpy ride.
